Keystone Clinical Approach
Keystone considers every individual valuable and has the right to self-determination. Our focus is on providing functional skills that help our students live the life they wish to live.
We encourage autonomy and honor the student’s agency over their own body and life. We do not practice force compliance.
We focus on de-escalation. Unless there is a serious safety issue, we gain the students’ permission for physical contact.
We recognize the student does not live a life alone but a life in a family and a community.
We practice Trauma Informed Care, a practice that prioritizes safety, collaboration, trust, empowerment and choice.
We utilize only evidence-based treatments and work diligently to implement new strategies when research has shown them to be effective.
